I am still searching for my mermaid lady to tear my feet out from under me, and drag my body to the darkest depths of the pacific. Keeping my heart pounding with a whole lot of mouth to mouth resuscitation. I know she exists somewhere under the sea, under the sea, darling it's better, down where it's wetter, take it from me, up on the shore they work all day, out in the sun they slave away, while we devotin', full time to floatin', under the sea. Anyways check out these mer-babes living the life on the beach, surfing the backs of sharks, and shit.
Usually when you read an
article about a band the person writing the article knows what the fuck they
are talking about. That is not the case with me, let me assure you. I basically
know absolutely nothing about this band other than I stumbled across them on
YouTube about a year ago, and they hail from Southern California. Ever since I
heard the song Catamaran I have been hooked. I love music that reminds me of my
childhood growing up on the beach splashing in the waves. I remember cruising
with my friend Martin and our dads to the beach in his father’s dune buggy
sometime in the early nineties jamming the beach boys cassette tape, then
barreling off the road, and up a sand dune at approximately 35 mph, it was the
shit! Allah-Las just released their self-titled full length album on iTunes, it’s
really rad. Anyways take a listen, and let you mind meld with the psych surf
tunes of the Allah-Las.
